(All products used in this post were sent to me by Dixie Belle Paint Company but all opinions and thoughts are 100% my own)

Happy Monday everyone!! Today I have a super fun furniture makeover for you!  I am collaborating with Dixie Belle Paint Company for this modern pink and gold dresser project and I am so excited!

Dixie Belle is the first chalk mineral paint I have ever used when doing furniture makeovers.  It is what I learned with, and it is my go to!  I have done dressers, tables, kitchen cabinets, and even fabric with their paint and it never disappoints!

When they agreed to work with me on some projects I was PUMPED.  I previously just did a Grey Dresser Makeover with their color Manatee Grey!

I have used a lot of their colors and products in my time of refinishing furniture but one color I have never got around to using is Tea Rose.  It is this beautiful dusty pink color and I love it, and now is my chance to use it!

I knew exactly what piece I wanted to paint and exactly what I wanted to do so it was basically a no brainer ;)

Keep reading if you want to know how I turned this old dresser into this adorable pink and gold modern dresser.  I think this would be perfect for a little girls room!

Okay okay I will stop talking and just get into what you're here for!

Products Used In This Post:

Wood Filler
Sand Paper
All Purpose Cleaner

Step One: Prep

As always I prepped my piece.  With Dixie Belle Chalk Style Paint you actually have such minimal prep which is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

I always scrub down my furniture pieces though because they are usually all very old and in somebody’s basement for years.  So, I always scrub the heck out of my pieces with an all-purpose cleaner and rinse them with water after.  Juuuuussst to make sure there is no grime on there.

This piece has a shiny finish so I gave is a good scuff sand and primer to prep it.  Dixie Belle also sells a product called Slick Stick which is for this exact situation.  You just apply it to a shiny surface and it helps the paint adhere way better than if you didn’t!

I just didn’t grab any because I already had a similar product at home!

Step Two: Paint

Time for the best part of any furniture makeover, the paint!

As I mentioned earlier I am painting this with their color Tea Rose.  I looooove the way this paint applies, seriously!  It had such good coverage and goes on so smooth.

I sooooo wish I would have grabbed some of their oval synthetic brushes because they give you almost no brush stroke marks and make the painting process so so easy!  I have used their brushed many times and have nothing but good things to say about them!

Another plus about Dixie Belle Paint is that it has Zero VOC’s which means it is safe and has no harsh smells, so rainy day = painting inside!

This paint dries so fast in between each coat so it made the painting process so much faster…especially for someone as impatient as me lol.

Step Three: Seal It Up

Even though you don’t need to seal their paint, I like to seal mine with their Best Dang Wax in Clear because I love the smooth and silky finish it gives!

I also like to add it to the drawers to help them slide easier, especially on older pieces! #waxhacks

I just apply the wax with a lint free cloth and wait a little bit for it to cure and I buff it out with one of their finishing pads!

Step Four: Finishing Touches

To finish off this piece I got these gorgeous diamond and gold knobs off of Amazon.  They are a great option for affordable hardware, and great quality!

I just added those to the finished piece and that’s it, you're done!

I loveeee how this pink and gold modern dresser turned out and I kinda want to keep it for myself lol!

I think this transformation is insane, and what's even crazier is how easy it was!  You can create beautiful pieces just like this one with Dixie Belle Paint because it is beginner friendly and affordable!  I highly recommend you check them out!

You can order from their website or find a local retailer that carries their awesome products here!

What do you guys think of the transformation of this piece?  Let me know in the comments below!
