Subtle Two Toned Painted Tallboy Dresser

Friday, July 12, 2019

Hellloooo everyone!  Another fun makeover for you today!  This is one I have been wanting to do for awhile and when Country Chic paint said they wanted to send me some more products, I knew exactly what colors I wanted to pick out!

(The paint used for this makeover was so kindly sent to me by the team at Country Chic Paint but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own! :))

I have had this makeover in mind for awhile, and while we were at Goodwill the same day I found that vintage vanity from the Pretty In Pink Painted Vanity makeover, I found this awesome tallboy dresser!  It was perfect of this project, AND it had my favorite drop pulls all in amazing shape!

Let's get to the makeover so ya'll can see what colors I used and how I did it!

Products Used:

All Purpose Cleaner

For this makeover cleaned up the piece and filled any little knicks and holes to the best of my ability.  I also glued down a piece of wood that was lifting on the top with some wood glue.

I primed the drawers with some stain blocking primer to avoid any bleed through or yellowing since I would be painting the drawers white.

Next up I grabbed my favorite paintbrushes from Country Chic and got to work!

I used this pretty white color called Crinoline for the drawers.  I did about 4 coats of this to make sure it was completely covered.  As with any white paint, you will need more coats than with a darker color, but the formula and coverage is still amazing with these paints!

For the body of the dresser I used the color Sunday Tea, which is a beautiful beige color that so pretty next to that white!  For this color I did about 4 coats as well and just let it all dry completely!

I sealed it up with a clear wax to give it a silky finish, put the pretty hardware back on and viola!  A gorgeous new piece!

I looooove how this turned out.  There is just something about a subtle two toned piece that gives me butterflies.

Here are some beauty shots!😉

SO gorgeous right?  Let me know what you think in the comments below, and let me know what else I should paint with the pretty color Sunday Tea!

Thanks so much to Country Chic Paint for sending me these products, I can't wait for everyone to see upcoming projects using their amazing paint. Including colors from their new Lustrum Paint Line😉
