Aqua Blue Two Toned Desk with Country Chic Paint

Tuesday, August 27, 2019

You guys! It is just 12 days until my wedding day and we are getting so so excited over here! We are pretty much all done with the final details and I am so excited for the big day!  But, this also means I won't be as active on my socials for about a week, but there will be posts still going up! :)

AQUA BLUE TWO TONED KID'S DESK

Now, let's get into this pretty makeover!

(Some of the products used in this post were so kindly sent to me by the team over at Country Chic Paint, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own :))

So I got this cute little desk off of Facebook Marketplace and I knew this pretty aqua blue color called Fancy Frock from Country Chic was the perfect color!

Products Used:

Stain

I started by sanding off the finish from the top because I knew I wanted to stain that part for a pretty two toned look!

After sanding I started the staining process!  I gave this baby 4 coats of stain.  I just let each coat dry and kept adding more until I got the color that I wanted!

While that dried I started on the paint!  As I mentioned before I used this pretty color called Fancy Frock from Country Chic's new Lustrum Collection.  It is this gorgeous aqua blue color and I love it! I actually still have a lot left so I can't wait to use it on another fun piece!

I gave the body of this cute desk about 3 coats with my 1.5" oval paintbrush from Country Chic Paint and let it dry completely.  Guys, I am telling you, they have THE BEST paintbrushes around.  No streaks, smooth application, and so easy to clean!

If I could recommend any staple to a furniture painter it would be these amazing brushes.  They seriously make the process so much easier and give a perfect finish!

Last thing to do was add a top coat.  I used this awesome Clear Coat from Country Chic as well.  To apply the topcoat I used one of their Painting Sponges.  The sponges are awesome for an easy application and smooth finish.

They are also super easy to rinse out and reuse!

I did 3 coats of this topcoat for a protectant finish.  And that's it!  This cute little desk is done!!  Here are some shots of this cute little thang!

I know I have said it before, but a little bit of paint can TRANSFORM any piece that just needs a little bit of TLC.  If you are a beginner, Country Chic Paint is a great brand to start with!!  All of their products are so user friendly and perfect for any skill level!

Well, I am off to finish my wedding planning and preparation to become a bride next week.  I hope ya'll loved this post and I can't wait for you to see the other posts while I am away!
