Eucalyptus Green French Provincial Dresser Makeover

Friday, November 15, 2019

Soooo anyone who knows me knows I love all things greenery, eucalyptus, olive branches, all of the gorgeous goodness! I mean, my wedding was FILLED with greenery.

So when I saw that Country Chic Paint had a color mixing recipe called Eucalyptus you better believe I was alllll over that!  This color is so so pretty and I am so happy with how it looks on this cute little french provincial piece!

I actually got this piece for free from my sister who found it on the side of the road! SCORE! She brought it down to me when she picked up her bedroom set that I gave a makeover here, so really it was a win win for the both of us!

(The products in this post were so kindly sent to me by the team over at Country Chic Paint, but all thoughts and opinions are of course 100% my own)

To start this makeover I cleaned the piece really well because it was never cleaned after sitting on the curb...gross. I took off all of the pretty hardware and gave it a good scrub too!

I taped off all of the edges of the drawers so i was sure not to get any paint on them!  I just recently started doing this, but it is such a game changer when I am painting!

Gripper Primer

Next I primed this piece with my favorite gripper primer, as usual, because it had a super shiny finish!

Now it's time to do the fun part! Mixing the paint!  I seriously feel like such a chemist when I am doing this.

I grabbed my measuring cup and my paint colors and got started!  This color mixing recipe calls for 2 parts Midnight Sky + 2 Parts Icicle + 1 Part Fresh Mustard.

Now, I'm not sure that my color came out exactly right, but I still love it!

I gave this piece 2 coats of paint. This color has beautiful coverage!

I let that dry and got started on the side of the drawers!

I painted the sides with white paint from Country Chic and once that dried I taped off 1 inch sections and painted the gaps with the same Eucalyptus color.  I am so happy I did this because it is such a fun detail when you open the drawers!

Lastly I sealed up this piece with a water based topcoat, including the sides of the drawers!

Here's some beauty shots :)

I love how this turned out and I highly recommend you try out this color mixing recipe from Country Chic, and any of the other color mixing recipes they have on their website!
