White Distressed Farmhouse Buffet

Monday, November 25, 2019

I seem to never have luck with buffets turning out the way I want them too, let alone selling, but for some reason I continue to paint them and hope for the best.  I wont give up!

This one surprisingly got a neutral makeover with some pretty white paint in the color Crinoline from Country Chic Paint!  I finished this piece off with some distressing and buffalo check wrapping paper on the inside of the cabinet doors and in the drawers for a classic farmhouse look!

WHITE DISTRESSED FARMHOUSE BUFFET

(The paint used in this post was so kindly sent to me by the team over at Country Chic Paint, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own :))

I got this piece off of FB Marketplace as usual and it was pretty expensive compared to what I usually spend on flip furniture, but I needed it!

So, I bought it, and me and my AMAZING  husband carried this massive thing down to the basement so I could get started.  It't not snowing yet but I am not a fan of the cold, so I am officially set up down in the basement for the winter :)

It makes it a little difficult when I do bigger pieces like this, but we always seem to make it work, and my hubs does everything he can to make it super easy for me to complete my work :)

My original plan was to paint it white and stain the legs a different color. Wellllll my plans didn't work out and I got so frustrated with trying to get these legs to look right so I ended up jsut painting the whole thing white.

Yea, it's not how I wanted it to turn out, but I still think it turned out pretty :)

So I took the doors off, removed the hardware & cleaned up the piece and gave it a coat of primer. I also sprayed it with some shellac to hopefully prevent any bleed through that could happen in my white paint!

Then I gave the piece 4 coats of white paint.  I don't really like painting pieces white, especially with a brush, because it just takes so many coats.  But, white is so pretty so I guess it is worth it.

After that all dried, I gave it a light distressing on all of the details!  I sealed it up with CCP Clear coat as usual, added my paper to the cabinets an drawers, put the original hardware back on & i was done!

Such a simple makeover for such a large piece, but it turned out so pretty and I hope it goes to a good home :)

Here are some pretty shots of this beast of a buffet!
