Deep Blue Two Toned Empire Dresser

I think this is going to be my last furniture piece of the year which is CRAZY!  I can't believe how fast this year has gone by.  I started this blog this year, and it has grown so much!  I am also so excited for the holiday's and hope you all have a wonderful end of this year and kick off the new year right!

I am so excited to see what the new year brings for my blog and my furniture painting!

Okay okay, let's get into this makeover!

(The products used in this post were so kindly sent to me by the team over at Country Chic Paint, but of course all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own :))

I found this piece on Facebook and I got it for just $30 which is a steal!

I love how little it is and I LOVE how old it is, it is so cute and was in such great shape!  The wood on the drawers is beautiful, which is why I chose to leave them!

I cleaned the piece up and gave it a coat of Country Chic's clear bonding primer!  It was my first time using this product and I actually love it!

It makes the distressing process so much easier since it is clear.

Next I grabbed my pretty blue paint called Midnight Sky and gave the body of this pretty little thing 3 coats!  I let it dry completely before lightly distressing it!

To distress I just grabbed a 120 grit pad of sandpaper and distressed all of the edges.  To get the perfect amount of stressing (in my opinion ;)) you should distress the edges and all of the spot where the piece would casually get the most wear and tear to make it look natural!

Country Chic Paint is super easy to distress which is one of the reasons I love it so much!

Lastly I applied my favorite topcoat from Country Chic and applied 3 coats of this, making sure it dries for a good couple hours in between each coat for a perfect finish!

I put the drawers pack in and this thing is ready for some staging and a photoshoot.

I really need to get some new staging pieces, I feel like it has been so repetitive, so that is one of my new years resolutions for my pieces this year!

Here are some beauty shots featuring my little fur baby!

Let me know what you would paint in this pretty deep blue color from Country Chic Paint in the comments below!  And don't forget to let me know what you think about this piece!
