Chippy Barn Campaign; Dresser/ Desk Combo Makeover

Friday, March 13, 2020

Hi Friends!

Today's post is going to be short and sweet!  I just wanted to show you the piece I refreshed during my Content Creator week with The Chippy Barn!  For the past week I have been taking all of my Instagram followers along as I use the chippy Barn's products to makeover a piece.

I chose this gorgeous blue in the color Raindrop for my piece and I absolutely love it!  Lets jump into this little makeover!

(The products in this post were kindly sent to me by The Chippy Barn, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own!)

BIN Primer

I picked up this piece off of FB from someone I have bought pieces from before!

I didn't even know before getting there that this cute little dresser actually flipper open and turned into a desk!  I was so excited!

I brought it home, took off all of the hardware and threw them into some cleaner to soak & started cleaning the piece.  This piece did not need very much prep luckily.  I decided to use my BIN primer to prime the top and the inside desk portion, just because these spots will be used a lot and I want it to stand the test of time!

Now it was already time for painting!  I decided to brush this piece because I wanted my followers to see how amazing this paint applied with a bush, normally I would spray, but either way it is an awesome paint!

I did three coats of paint on this piece, letting it dry for about 30 minutes in between each coat.  That is another awesome quality of this paint, dry time is super quick (depending on your conditions of course)

Once the paint had all dried, I grabbed my Ultra Tough Topcoat in Satin and poured it into my sprayer.  I prefer to spray my topcoats always, so I wasn't going to change that for this piece!

This topcoat was super thin compared to others I had used, but I did like it!  I noticed when I had a few touch up spots though, brushing it on created bubbles.  So, that was the only think I wasn't a HUGE fan of, but this top coat does spray amazingly and look amazing in the end.

I gave this piece 3 coats of topcoat!

I cleaned up my hardware, applied a tiny bit of  gold leaf rub n buff and put all of it back on the piece!

Here are her beauty shots :)

I was so happy to work with the Chippy Barn on this piece, and I highly recommend their paint!  To see my full first impression from a previous piece check out this post:
