Quick and Easy MCM Nightstand Makeover

Hi Friends!

You all know I love a good Mid Century Modern piece of furniture, so when I found this $5 nightstand at Goodwill you know I had to grab it right away! Yes, $5 and all it needed was some paint and a new knob and it was good as new!

(These pieces were all purchase before Social Distancing was put into place, don't worry!)

(Some products used in this post were so kindly sent to me by the team over at Country Chic Paint, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own!)

Here is the cute little gal I picked up at Goodwill:

I love those legs!! It's such a fun spin on the usual peg legs you see on mcm pieces, I loved it!

I gave her a good scrub down and rinse with some water and she was ready for paint, no repairs needed!

I used Country Chic Paint color Wanderess for the first time on this piece, and it was the perfect fit with the MCM style.  I will definitely be using this gorgeous color again!  I did 3 coats of paint on this piece, since it was a darker wood!

Now it was time to seal it up!  I tried out a new topcoat on this piece and was pleasantly surprised by the finish!

I used CCP Hemp Oil to seal it up.  I used one of their painting sponges to apply it, let it dry for 12 hours per the instructions on the bottle, and wiped off the excess with a lint free cloth once it was dry!

This gave almost the same finish as a wax wood and it had such a silky smooth finish!  I also used the Hemp oil to freshen up the inside of the drawer, put on a ring pull, and she was complete!

This piece was the perfect example that sometimes all a piece needs is a fresh coat of paint for a new look!

Don't forget to use my Code for Country Chic Paint!
